Ethical Design Practices

Search Engine Optimization will be in the designers mind from day one.  We will do everything we can to ensure you are noticed by search engines and achieve the best ranking possible for your specific site (may vary depending on age, traffic, etc of website).  In this optimization we will utilize meta tags on every appropriate page, hand submit the site to many popular search engines.  (40+ search engines including google.com, yahoo.com)  All images will have ALT tags and will be optimized to load quickly without causing the image to lose clarity.  During the search engine optimization process we will not use any unethical SEO practices often referred to as spamdexing.  Some common forms of spamdexing are:

• Keyword stuffing in the meta tags
• Using text that is too small or almost invisible on a page
• Cloaking or page-swapping techniques
• Using colored text on a same-color background
• Promoting keywords not related to your Web site
• Anything causing search results to show multiple listings for the same content

With Search Engine Optimization in mind, we do not recommend any website designed entirely of anything but HTML.  For example, websites made in Flash or even fully JavaScript may look fancy, but when the search engine robots can not see it at all it will be very ineffective for most purposes.  The same thing happens to websites made from a CMS.  Dynamic websites are often skipped over by search engine robots often drastically affecting your traffic and search engine rank.  We do however offer dynamic content on individual pages like a client updated photo gallery or real estate listing.  If you have questions about the differences between dynamic content vs static content please contact Jen. 

Ethical Business Practices

We require the agreement to a contract to ensure the client intends on following through with the project to keep our designers working on jobs that will produce results.  This contract will be modified per client, so if there is anything that concerns you please contact us about it directly.  We will make reasonable adjustments to the contract per request.

• We will never give out your personal information to anyone
• We will follow the outlines contract and strive to meet every deadline, giving notice and reason if we ever think we will fall short
• We are devoted to bringing you the website you imagine with the search engine results you expect
• We offer technical support for every website we manage as long as we are managing it.  We will also give you up to 3 months technical support for any new site that does not need a maintenance plan.
